Last week, Te Kahui o Nga Mata Raukura took to the atamira for the Taranaki Puanga Festival. Our roopu took out the whole competition for under 13s.
I felt nervous while we were getting ready and waiting backstage and getting onto the stage. As soon as the guitar started and we started Ma te Ra, the nerves went away and I was excited, I was shaking hard out.
I am proud of the haka and the eke, the hardest part for me was making sure I played the putatara properly, I had been practising heaps to get it right.
